Who is CottontailVA?
CottontailVA, often called Cotton, is a Canadian independent VTuber, voice actress and singer. Twitch is the centre of her live work, while separate YouTube channels make room for edited streams, music and voice performances. Her official Carrd presents voice acting and streaming together, a useful introduction to a career that moves between improvised conversation and recorded performance.
Her rabbit character is recognisable, but the voice is the connection between those different formats. A game collaboration depends on timing and reactions; a duet depends on delivery, arrangement and another singer. Cotton works across both. HoloList records her VTuber debut as 21 November 2020 and lists her as independent. Those directory details provide a starting point for the longer public record of songs and community projects.
Voice acting, live streams and a five-year retrospective
The main YouTube channel introduces her as a voice actress and collects the edited, conversational side of her work. That is distinct from the music channel, where individual performances have their own credits and presentation. For a newcomer, choosing between them is more useful than treating every upload as the same kind of stream highlight.
In December 2025 she published What 5 Years of Being a VTuber Looks Like. Its anniversary framing offers an entry into her established streaming career. The production credits name Forsakayn as editor and Fream for the thumbnail, illustrating how even a personality-led retrospective involves other creators. It is a retrospective upload, rather than the date of her original debut.
Lust and Find Out: a recorded music identity
The release catalogue provides another way to follow Cotton over time. Apple Music dates the five-track EP Lust to 23 November 2024. The distributor-provided Find Out audio identifies the song as part of that release, separating its recording history from the later music-video presentation.
The Find Out video, uploaded on 15 December 2024, credits ROOKIETHESTAR for music, Kwite and CottontailVA for vocals and lyrics, Yjyj_2045 for art, and Evilyami for editing and animation. Those contributions make it a useful first original-song collaboration to explore: the performance, songwriting and visual production belong to a named team. Its December upload should not replace the EP's November release date.
Rock covers, musical theatre and collaborators
Apple Music lists the four-track rock EP Wrath on 1 September 2025. The separately uploaded A Match Into Water pairs Cotton with OBKATIEKAT. Its credits distinguish the two vocalists from SixteenInMono's instrumental and Todd Barriage's mixing. For readers following either singer, this is a concrete shared work rather than simply a list of people who have appeared in streams together.
Her collaborations also reach beyond that rock release. No Longer You, uploaded in November 2025, is an EPIC: The Musical cover with AmaLee. SixteenInMono handles the instrumental and mixing, xeingo supplies art and animation, and a separately credited choir expands the production beyond the lead duet.
In December, Ave Maria brought a different pairing: Yoclesh is credited for both vocals and art, alongside Cotton's vocals, David Russell's instrumental, SixteenInMono's mixing and Leila's editing. These are individual creative roles; a shared recording does not establish shared agency membership.
A larger ensemble and a 2026 music video
The uploaded Time Warp cover gives her catalogue an ensemble dimension. Its cast includes RiiKami, ShiaBun, AICANDII, Camila and other performers, with SixteenInMono credited for the instrumental and mixing. The August 2024 video is a way to explore several voices in one production, rather than an indication that the entire cast forms a permanent group.
The music channel continued into 2026 with Home Is a Happy Place, uploaded on 14 August. The official description credits Cotton's vocals, SixteenInMono's instrumental, tsueuwuu's mixing, Cougar MacDowall's art and ReposeMK's editing. It also links the Gluttony EP. The video and its production credits provide a clear next step after the earlier releases without turning a recording date or a catalogue link into an unsupported account of how the song was made.
Charity projects and convention appearances
Cotton's public projects include community fundraising. In her May 2025 charity follow-up, she says viewers raised more than $100,000 for charity in May 2024 and describes fulfilling promised challenges, including skydiving with Octopimp. The amount is her published account of that fundraiser; the follow-up's 2025 upload is distinct from the 2024 fundraising period.
The organiser's Animethon 2025 guest page also listed Cotton among its VTuber guests for the 8–10 August Edmonton event. That programme places her within a convention setting as well as online streaming. The listing establishes the advertised guest role, without supplying a detailed record of every session or the event's outcome.
Where to begin
Start with Find Out for an original collaboration, A Match Into Water for a rock duet, or No Longer You for an ensemble-backed theatrical cover. Ave Maria connects the singing and illustration communities; the five-year retrospective offers a route back to her live personality. The distinction between these formats is part of what makes her catalogue more varied than a stream schedule.
